IWCF and IADC well control training

Agora delivers IWCF Drilling Well Control and Well Intervention Pressure Control programmes (Levels 3 and 4) and IADC WellSharp courses from introductory to supervisor level.

The courses link well control theory with the practical decisions made on the rig floor, with a strong focus on kick detection, shut-in and well kill.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between IWCF and IADC WellSharp?

Both are well control certification programmes. IWCF is the International Well Control Forum; WellSharp is the programme of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC). Your operator or contract usually specifies which one you need.

Which level do I need?

Level 3 is for personnel who must recognise a developing well control event and act immediately at the rig floor. Level 4 is for those who supervise well control operations. Tell us your role and we will advise.

How long is an IWCF certificate valid?

IWCF certificates are typically valid for two years.

Can well control training run for our crew?

Yes. Courses can run in a closed session at our centres or onsite. Send us the course, headcount and location and we will reply with dates and a quote.
