Course overview

Workover & Intervention Well Control (Wellsite Leader). Broad well control training for operator representatives who oversee workover and well intervention activities and must verify that the well, service company equipment and operating plan remain within the approved well control envelope. The course addresses the supervisory decisions expected of a wellsite leader across wireline, coiled tubing, snubbing and workover operations.

5 days (minimum 32 instructional hours; assessment time additional).

Why this course matters

The course is built around oversight rather than equipment operation. Participants review barrier status, pressure-control readiness, kill planning, testing requirements, service-specific risks and contingency response. The objective is to improve the representative’s ability to challenge assumptions, verify that the correct barriers are in place and make informed decisions when the operation or well condition changes.
