Well Servicing Wireline
Well control training for wireline personnel who carry out intervention work through pressure-control equipment on live wells.
Course overview
Well control training for wireline personnel who carry out intervention work through pressure-control equipment on live wells. The course covers the well barriers, pressure-control equipment and operating principles used to maintain control during slickline, electric line and related wireline activities, together with testing, kill preparation and response to wireline-specific well control problems.
3 days (minimum 12 instructional hours; assessment time additional).
Why this course matters
Participants develop a clearer understanding of the full pressure-control system from the wellhead to the top of the lubricator, how barriers are established and verified, and how equipment configuration changes with the operation. Particular attention is given to recognizing loss of containment, responding to leaks or equipment problems and maintaining control when tools or wire are across the pressure barrier.
