Course Overview
IWCF Well Control Level 3 (Surface Stack) is essential training for those currently working in a role expected to shut-in a well. It reinforces knowledge of the stages of shutting-in a well — from kick detection, to shut-in, to monitoring during the well-kill operation.
Designed for drillers and assistant drillers, Agora delivers it on a Drilling System DS-20 simulator with experienced instructors.

What You’ll Learn
- Well control concepts, mud & pit management and pre-recorded data
- Kick prevention during drilling, casing & cementing; barriers
- Shallow gas, water flows & abnormal pressure warning signs
- Kick detection, well control drills and shut-in procedures
- Post shut-in monitoring, risk management and equipment
Assessment & Certification
- Written assessment.
- Practical simulator assessment.
- 70% required in each; candidates receive the IWCF Level 3 certificate.
